Steve Pitts was born in Cambridgeshire, UK. He is an independent solo artist who specialises in instrumental music. His current eight albums span a variety of genres. These range from meditative, ambient compositions (similar in nature to the early ambient work of artists such as Brian Eno and Harold Budd), to orchestral-styled soundtracks and modern, fast-paced drum and synth pieces (in some ways influenced by the work of artists such as Vangelis, Tangerine Dream and Jean Michel Jarre ). Due to the ambient, soundtrack-styled nature of his work, a selection of his compositions have been used in various videos and visual projects.
