Steve Gillette (born in Pensacola, Florida, on 23 November 1942) is an American folk/country musician and songwriter. As well as solo recordings, he has recorded albums as Steve Gillette & Cindy Mangsen (the pair married in 1989). As a songwriter, ever since Ian & Sylvia first recorded "Darcy Farrow" in 1965, his songs have been recorded by major artists including The Stone Poneys, Linda Ronstadt, Garth Brooks, John Denver, Nanci Griffith, Waylon Jennings, Iain Matthews, Anne Murray, Josh Ritter, Kenny Rogers, Spanky and Our Gang, Don Williams and Tammy Wynette.
