Born in Brooklyn, N Y C. Steve first sang on street corners in Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan, and Queens. Joined first group "The Random Blues Band" in 1965. Released first single "Winchester Cathedral" for Florence Greenberg at Scepter Records 1966. Jammed live with Greenwich Village, N Y C bands such as The Blues Project, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Genya Ravan and Ten Wheel Drive, David Clayton Thomas, Jimi James and The Blue Flame, The Chambers Brothers, Blood Sweat & Tears, more. Known for percussive keyboard style with independent bass lines. Began writing original songs and affiliated with BMI. Performed three winning entries at The Bottom Line for New York State Songwriters Festival. Had one major cover song performed by Maxine Nightingale and Samantha Sang entitled "Will You Be My Lover". Formed own group and recorded unreleased album with producer Tony Camillo in 1977. Released "Steve Fields Revisited" cd on www.mp3.com in 2001. Cd reached number one in all categories and remained there for several weeks. New releases written, arranged and produced by Steve include two gospel soul songs entitled "Heart and Soul" and "Closer to Heaven" with lead vocals performed by Antwan Michael and Dorothy Moore respectively and accompanied by members of The Voices of Mount Olivet Baptist Church Choir, Dan Chen on drums/percussion, Wayne Taussig on bass/lead guitar and Steve on keyboards.
