Stephan Höpner (born around 1580 in Penzlin, Mecklenburg; died 22. August 1628 in Frankfurt (Oder)) was a German cantor and composer in Frankfurt (Oder). Stephan Höpner was enrolled at the University of Frankfurt (Oder) in 1600. In 1605 he became a cantor in Mùncheberg. In 1614, Höpner became cantor at the Marienkirche in Frankfurt (Oder), as the successor to Bartholomew Gesius, whose music influenced his compositions. Congratulations, wedding and funeral music are preserved by Stephan Höpner as compositions for choir.
