Steinwolke was a German New Wave band that originated in Rottweil. Their first album was released in 1978. The band gained recognition primarily through their involvement in the Neue Deutsche Welle (NDW) music movement. The band was initially founded by three members of the Haas family: Clemens Maria (born May 6, 1966), Konrad, and Andreas. They were later joined by Dominique Diaz, an Indian adopted son of the Haas family, who was born in Uganda, and Uli Schmid, a friend of the band from Leonberg. In 1983, the band released their first German-language album, which featured the hit single "Katharine, Katharine." This song reached number 21 on the German charts and remained there for a total of 18 weeks. While their subsequent releases did not achieve the same level of commercial success, they still enjoyed a considerable following, with several tracks performing well on radio charts.
