There are multiple bands using the name Statement, each with different backgrounds and musical styles. 1. Statement is an alternative metal band from Denmark. 2. Statement was a hardcore punk band affiliated with the Hardline movement, formed by Rat, who was credited by Sean Muttaqi of Vegan Reich as coining the term "vegan straight edge." This version of Statement released the "Prepare for Battle" 7-inch. 3. Another hardcore band named Statement was formed by former members of Brotherhood, including guitarist Greg Anderson, who later played with Amenity, Galleons Lap, Engine Kid, Thorr's Hammer, Goatsnake, Sunn O))), Teeth of Lions Rule the Divine, Burial Chamber Trio, Pentemple, and Ascend. This band released the "Don't Sacrifice Me" 7-inch on Battery Records in 1989 and was not associated with the Hardline subculture. 4. Statement is also the name of a six-piece band from Sint-Niklaas, Belgium, whose musical style ranges from solid rock to pop rock. 5. There is a Norwegian band called Statement that started in 2005 under the name The Troopers. They have played many concerts in Southern Norway, won a talent contest, and performed at festivals such as the Eikerapen Roots Festival and Kvinesdal Rock Festival. They have released a demo available for purchase. The band members are Alexander Stulien (drums), Morten Mydland (vocals, guitar), Edvard Stulien (guitar), Andreas Ro (guitar), and Gordon Pytten (bass).
