Red Ear Records artist Startled Calf formed in El Paso, TX in 1990. Featuring Omar A. Rodriguez-Lopez on vocals, Ralph Jasso on guitar, Jimmy Hernandez on bass, and George Hosni on drums. The band broke up in 1992. Jimmy died of cancer shortly after his 21st birthday. The other members are still making music in many different creative forms.
