"The Starry Saints were born in 2009 when former band mates, Allen Davis and Clint Sargent joined forces on a new music project resulting in a blend of alternative, modern, progressive, shoegazing, indie, pop-rock music. Davis and Sargent originally played together with The High Violets. In 2002 they collaborated on The High Violets first album “44 Down.” Sargent played lead guitar and composed most of the songs, while Davis played bass guitar and produced the album. In 2003 Davis moved to San Francisco where he joined the band Every Move a Picture and became songwriter for their album "Heart=Weapon" released on V2 records in 2005. Sargent continued with The High Violets, releasing the acclaimed album "To Where You Are" in 2006 and Cinéma in 2010. . In the spring of 2009 the duo regrouped to embark on a new music project soon to be named Starry Saints. Allen had already written "Go.” They went into the studio to finalize it and produced two additional songs, "Unseeing Eyes" and "The Long Fade" both destined to be on their debut Starry Saints EP. Soon after they teamed up with friend and videographer, William Landers to produce a video of the songs "Go." The video was entered in a contest sponsored by 94.7 KNRK radio for a local band to perform the opening slot for The Killers. It was selected from five semi-finalists by The Killers themselves to open for them at Portland Memorial Coliseum in September 2009. Starry Saints released their debut album, Serenade, in N
