Artist
Born in March 1927 Stanislav Heinrichovich (Genrickovich) Neuhaus is one of the music world's greatest, and under-rated, pianists from Moscow. Exquisite, eloquent, lyrical, passionate. He was son of Henrich (Genrick) Gustavovich Neuhaus. Stanislav Neuhaus is underrated compared to his father Heinrich Neuhaus because he was often in the shadow of his father and his father's pupil Sviatoslav Richer. That doesn't take away from his talent or creditability because he was also a teacher in Moscow. Another thing not well known about Stanislav Neuhaus is that he was in the Russian film "Ballada" where he plays various pieces by Chopin, including Chopin's Ballade No. 4 which seems to be what the film is based on. In January of 1980, Stanislav Neuhaus died from what is speculated as alcoholism. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
