The Stanford Fleet Street Singers are considered by many to be the definitive sledge-core doom metal band of the 1970's. While many consider their 1978 hit, "Death, Death, Death, Death, Death" their primary gift to music, inventing the musical temperment used universally today, others argue that "Howling Plague" was their greater musical success, for it was the first metal song to successfully summon Hades, god of the underworld. However, all music critics agree that this 19-piece metal group would have easily taken over the greater part of western europe by force of sheer melody by the year 2103, bringing utter pestilence and filth to the land. However, sadly, Fleet Street's musical career was cut short when Satan annexed their souls in 1982 while they were rehearsing in a band memeber's Topeka, Kansas home.
