Stagnant Breed is a female fronted death metal band based in Dorset, UK. Comprised currently of 5 members, the band formed in the late 2000s and went through several lineup changes before in October of 2010, Guitarist Rob 'Xander' joined to fill the only guitar spot after the band was largely disbanded. With this 4 member lineup, the band, consisting of Will Wood on drums (previously guitar), Rich Drinkwater on bass and Missti Lee providing vocals, went on to play a small last minute replacement supporting slot in Bournemouth's iBar after a reccomendation from another band on the bill. Within the next month, the band played the headlining slot on a night for female fronted bands in the legendary 'Sound Circus' in their home town. With the gig a resounding success, and several more songs being written, the band recorded their 3-track demo in late February. It was then that they decided to make Nick Smith a permanent rhythm guitarist after a short probationary period. The band currently have several more live appearances booked, including a battle of the bands for a place on the New Blood stage at Bloodstock Open Air Festival 2011, provided by Metal2TheMasses.
