STACIA PETRIE Award winning Folk/Blues/R&B Songwriter & Vocalist & Instrumentalist Performing steadily around the Detroit area since 1993, Stacia Petrie has released her fourth album "Ruby Blues" once again to positive reviews. Her detail to lyrics underscored with beautiful melodies warmly sung is a testament to her talent. Stacia has easily crossed the genre lines of Acoustic/Folk or Singer/Songwriter while fronting her own band to acoustic and electric blues with the best regional players in the Detroit area and also as a member of the show-stopping, seven women fronted Detroit Women. Since 2002, she has been nominated for a total of 11 Detroit Music Awards, taking home two trophies in 2005 for Outstanding Acoustic/Folk songwriter and vocalist. She has won several songwriting honors, including being a Kerrville New Folk Finalist in 1998. Most recently a song from the collection "Ruby Blues" entitled "Face the Blues", a collaboration with Detroit area guitar/vocal/songwriter virtuoso Motor City Josh took 1st place in the blues category in the 2007 Unisong International Song Contest and also 3rd place in the 2007 Great Lakes Song Contest. Stacia is also featured in the soon to be released film "Sassitude", a documentary about the Detroit Women produced by Streetlamp Productions. Stacia's original music can be described as a modern blend of acoustic-based rock and blues with innovative lyrics that embody a fresh, imaginative perspective on song themes old and new. Us
