Stöma consists of a drummer and a bassplayer. Stöma doesn't need other instruments since bassplayer Bruno uses effects and loops on his bass and voice in a way you won't miss the guitar or other instruments. Stöma is on a quest for new sounds and emotions. Stöma gigs are always intense and vibrant, balancing on the edge of improvisation. Drummer Wouter van Wijk and bassplayer Bruno Xavier Ferro da Silva are well known musicians in the Alternative scene here in Rotterdam/Holland. Both play in DooDoo's Coffee which is quite a big name over here. (cd Choosen Boundaries 2002). DDC is back in full action again after a break up which lasted three years. During that time Stöma was formed. Bruno liked to refer to Stöma as the colostomy bag Wouter and Bruno needed to get all the shit out they bottled up after DooDoo’s Coffee split up. Aside from DDC they both play in The Must which is the back up band for famous keyboard wizard Harry Merry. Furthermore Bruno plays in various projects like Bruno&Robin (with Belgian drummer Robin Schaeverbeeke – ex Deus), Dr. Schnitt, Grillig (hiphop), Ensemble Residu (a big improvisation pool consisting of Rotterdams finest musicians) and WeGo (Danish dance/performance group). Wouter also plays in Clayborne; a rockband from Rotterdam. Stöma made a big impression on audiences around Holland, f.i. playing as opening act for Tricky at The Nighttown club during the popronde (Hollands equivalent to Loolapalooza) and on the Noorderslag side festival in
