Artist
Known as a singer-songwriter and spiritual novelist, Sreejit Poole was in high-school in Seattle during the city's Grunge takeover of the 90s. At the same time in 1990 he was introduced to Mata Amritanandamayi, better known as Amma the Hugging Saint, and his family's focus turned to spirituality and humanitarian endeavors, working to help the downtrodden in whichever way they could. Sreejit has lived in the ashram's of Mata Amritanandamayi since 1994 where he is now an initiated monk having recieved the name of Satvamrita. Sreejit discovered music early in his life with Michael Jackson and Diana Ross getting heavy rotation in his youth. In his teen years he progressed to Prince, and Metallica, and settled on the guitar after experimenting with saxophone and piano. After meeting Amma his music practice took a turn towards Indian bhajans. Later in life he began melding his worlds, bringing Indian Spirituality lyrically into Americana/ Roots music. Sreejit approaches folk music with a punk, just let it out, aggression. You can find Sreejit's artsy videos on YouTube or his music on Spotify Sreejit is also an author and you can find his novels on Amazon and his poetry on his website: Where Love Meets War User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
