Artist
Ray Singer , more commonly known as 'Spoonhead' is a producer and live act of the 'electronic music' family. Best described as a cross-breed of bird, amphibian and mammal, crossing genres from Progressive into Breaks, Psy, Glitch and Dark Minimal. Spoonhead is known for his noisy, unusual call, different for each individual, that combines bellbird-like notes with clicks, cackles, timber-like creaks and groans, layered over heavy pulsating bass sounds and tight kick drums—the unusual possession of 2 voiceboxes enables Spoonhead to perform such a myriad of vocalisations[citation needed]. Some of the huge range of Spoonhead's sounds are beyond the human register. Watching a Spoonhead set, one can observe gaps in the sound when his beak is agape and throat tufts throbbing. Spoonhead will play at night, especially around the full moon period[2] through sunrise into the daylight hours.
