Thus, Sponge Wings: it's a £3.50 keyboard, named Gorgeous Lee, coveted from Scope (the greatest of all charity shops), it's a pound-shop baby-rattle and a notebook brimming with handsome bullshit. Viola, a band! Hurrah! A review! “…and a duet named Sponge wings. I was later to find out that this was their live debut and what a treat. For fans of Belle and Sebastian this band are a must see. A boy and a girl, one banging loudly on a drum kit, the other playing a £5.50 Korg keyboard (according to their website). Their unusual sound kept me entertained throughout their set and their entourage of young, possibly art students, were very thoughtful in their encouraging remarks.
