Split Lung was a sludge/doom metal band from Fresno, California that existed between 2014 and 2015. During that time they released a three song EP under the name Hymns To The Stone and another three song EP under Split Lung. The band was named after the line from Melville's Moby Dick: "Split your lungs with blood and thunder." The band drew influence from groups like Sleep, Earth, Down, eyehategod, Electric Wizzard, The Sword, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, and Floor.
