Artist
The Spit Brothers are Ric Baker (Bakir) and Daniel Karz-Wagman (Dubsworth). Ric and Daniel came together in 2005 with their common backgrounds in instrumental performance and music production to form the San Francisco based band The Spit Brothers. The vision of the group is to incorporate elements of dub, afro-beat, jungle, and electronica into their music. Their live set is a combination of improvised and sequenced moments created through loop manipulation and re-arrangement, and dub fading. Ric plays trumpet, melodica and organ, while Daniel plays bass, guitar and drums, and they share programming and production duties. Among the influences they consider King Tubby, Miles Davis, James Brown, Amon Tobin, Clifford Gilberto, Fela Kuti, Bakir, Bill Laswell, Dave Holland, Shy FX, Lake Trout, Dubsworth http://www.myspace.com/thespitbrothers User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
