In Spring 2011, guitarist Achilles and bassist Stavros decided to terminate what seemed to be a dead-end covers project, and start working on their own material. Soon they were joined by Greg and Vassilis, and Spine Chilling Breeze was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. The aim was (and still is) to explore the stoner rock area, but as always happens the sound has come to tread among similar genres, from desert rock to space rock to metal to alternative, as each member brings their own background and influences... After writing songs and rehearsing for a few months, the decision was taken for a first recording. A sample of their work, to introduce themselves to the public. So, in early 2012 they recorded "Promo 2012" (which you can find, listen to and download, in the 'Music' page of the site: http://www.spine-chilling-breeze.com, by the way). Promo 2012 received a number of good reviews from webzines and music sites. A few months and a couple of gigs later, it was time for the next step: a full-length release. Following a DIY approach, the material was recorded by the band's own means, with some outside help for the vocals, and mastering by a professional studio. "Milky way" is out in the Summer of 2012.
