Loud, filthy, energetic Rock 'N' Roll that can only be recommended to those that are into serious chaos. Speedfreek formed in the summer of 2009 after Joe Lynch, Tom Mallard and Guy Britton of the hopeful, yet hopeless Bad Taste ditched the band and it's seemingly never ending conflict, for something fresher and more likeable in the form of Speedfreek. After spending months locked away, writing new material and searching for a suitable guitarist; through close friends the trio found local guitar player Joe O' Connell whose style and feel for the music gelled nicely with the base already built after the disbandment of Bad Taste. Joe was keen and quick to impress and he fitted in well with the plans of Lynch, Tom & Guy to create a balls-to-the-wall, no frills Rock 'N' Roll sound capable of blowing away the most diverse of audiences. From an area with what can only be described as having a pathetic music scene with very little opportunity and minimal competition, Speedfreek have no other intentions other than to leave a mark where it will really be noticed. With most of the local bands too caught up in trying to be 'cool' and left down on their knees after the first few months, these four young bastards know that the music always comes first. Already having recorded a fair share of material, the band has created a platform for them to push up from and will soon be releasing their first EP; the self-produced Gutter Love EP recorded in Guy's home studio.
