Artist
The "Baltimore, MD-Born, College Park-matured" Speed on the Beat originally worked with several indie labels until he realized the "signed" life wasn't for him. After taking an extended hiatus, SOTB returned to hip-hop in late 2011 with a new, intentionally no-fi sound, purposely leaving in audio clips and pops--in an effort to critique the glossy nature of music and to deepen his story. After releasing 2012's One Year Later and 2013's Songs For..., Speed is closing the chapter on this trilogy with 2014's Death of The King. Always introspective, charitable, and reflective, Speed is constantly readying himself for new adventures. A blogger as well, Sped operates SpeedontheBeat.com, a blog/personal site specializing in exclusive content--and brutally honest views and opinions from the "No-Fi" King himself.
