Formed in the year 2000 while eating 17 Jack's pizzas in one sitting, Speed Limit Soldiers became the most well-received group Marshall and Ferguson ever created. The small EP "White Chocolate" was written and recorded and was never thought to be more than just a personal listen from the two creators themselves, but it created a fairly nice stir and garnered some demand. Well over 50 copies were sold in the week of the release, which in Neckbrace Substitute terms is GOLD, 100 is PLATINUM. Needless to say, there was pressure from the duo to unleash a full-length sophomore effort, which came surprisingly easy just a few months later. In the summer of 2001 the album that will continue to stand the test of time, "2053", was unveiled to local ears...and it stunned. In some ways it was a good stunning, but the record was definitely stunning in odd ways to a lot of people as well...nonetheless, it is a personal favorite of its creators. Speed Limit Soldiers had a single live performance in that same year, and shortly after really ended with high school ending. There was a short period of time in 2005 when the duo went back into the studio in an effort to put together a massive storybook record, ambitions of fleshing it out to 22 tracks. They only recorded 16, but they are all here to take a listen to. Listen. Enjoy. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
