Soyol-Erdene (Соёл-Эрдэнэ, "cultural jewel") is a pop-rock band formed in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in 1971 by the national Ministry of Culture. It aimed to emulate the otherwise unreplicated (in Mongolia) sound of The Beatles. Along with original songs, the band performed arrangements of traditional Mongolian music. Soyol-Erdene disbanded in 1992. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
