Formerly known as Zombies Did It, Southern Girls was a punk band from upstate New York, formed in the fall of 2007. The group blended together influences of Hardcore Punk, Math Rock, and Post-Rock. In the fall of 2008, the band recorded their first demo at Dead Air Studios in Amherst, Massachusetts and supported the release by setting up and playing numerous shows locally in upstate New York and throughout New England. The band toured across the East Coast and parts of the Midwest during the late summer of 2009 and released their first full length in the fall entitled "Widowmaker."
