South Maxico consists of the four freelance-musicians Max Schultz, Erik Söderlind, Fredrik Jonsson & Robert Ikiz. The group was formed in the fall of 2004, at a time when the musicians were involved in several other projects - ranging from combo-jazz & symphony orchestras to pop & studio-recordings. Original songs were rehearsed and from the very beginning you could notice the broad sound of South Maxico. They are influenced by a variety of genres, with jazz-music as their basic platform. The original sound with two guitars is charactaristic for the group, but also the strong melodies, some of them written back in the 80´s by Max Schultz, but the´ve not been recorded until now.
