Originally called "Unknowns", in 2003 Corrado De Fabritiis (guitar), Marco Recchiuti (bass) and Danilo Malatesta (drums) marked the genesis of a band a little later would become a reference point in the music scene in Abruzzo. With the almost immediate entry of Paolo Traini to the voice the band chose the name Sound of Soul. Carried by Corrado's extraordinary compositional skills the music of Sound of Soul, mainly in English, has evolved over time to embrace very different genres until eventually deconstructing musical canons themselves while maintaining a catchy melodic character. The original lineup has remained unchanged except for the bassist who was replaced a few times, a role currently held by Matteo Carosi, old friend and fan of the band. The Sound of Soul define themselves mainly as a "live band" and within the first months they reach the first important goals such as opening for "Nuove Tribù Zulu" and "Statuto" at the Roseto Arena 4 Palme and opening for "Assalti Frontali" at the Palasport Roseto. Among other important concerts of the band's early period, there are shows at Indhastria Giulianova, at Teatro del mare in Montesilvano and the regional final of Emergenza festival at Galadhrim in Teramo. They are also hosts on a local TV for Anna Show.
