Soulphonic Soundsystem is a collaboration between multi-instrumentalist Chauncey Canfield and Transistor Lounge resident DJ Santo that combines broken beats with live instrumentation including horns, a rhodes piano and a really sick dose of latin flavor. Their first 12", "Sonido" featured vocals from Geri Soriano-Lightwood of Supreme Beings of Leisure, and aroused interest from global taste makers including Richard Dorfmeister and Rainer Truby. It has proven to be a full on floor filler at LA's hot Transistor Lounge parties and beyond.
