Soul Wun (Blake Carthew) is an Australian musician residing in Newcastle, Australia, Blake draws on a childhood obsession of hip-hop and electronic, fusing the two to create shuffling, atmospheric dance music. Blake has been writing and performing under the Soul Wun alias around Australia for the last 6 years. A pivotal figure of Palace, a driving force in the dance music community, he has garnered an undeniable presence and reputation as one of Newcastle’s driving figures. Over time, Blake’s sound and passion has shifted, becoming increasingly concerned with conveying ephemeral qualities. In addition to production, Blake ran a radio show on Melbourne’s Area 3000 featuring artists and friends from around the country – Public Space explored music on the periphery.
