Bought together by a love of women, alcohol, innuendos, laughing and most importantly songwriting S.I.J.O.Y.D formed in Wolverhampton, at the university to be precise. For so long it was a running joke told between Lawrence Arms songs, appaling film lectures and journeys on the metro. What really solidified their partnership was a man named Bob, a friend and fellow student. In awe of his colloquial musings they struck upon the idea of making an album entitled 'Phrases of Bob'. These phrases we're either taken from Bob's mouth (with some force) or from what others had said about him. Out of these Bob filled days and Bob-less conversations about the great man came future flops such as 'Rack of Shit', 'I'd Do Things To Her I Wouldn't Do To A Dog' and the unbelieveably brilliant 'Cock In A Frock.' Undeterred the boys went on and decided to focus on making proper songs but have stuck to their guns regarding the album name (we like kicking capitalism in the balls.) The two in the photo are Dan (the one with the can and the duck mouth) looking lovingly at Mitchell who is wearing Tweet's mum's old coat - "she was going to chuck it away". Mitch's main influences lie within the genre of punk but then stretch too Coheed & Cambria to The Jam and then back again. Dan desperately loves Morrissey and The Smiths and would make love to American Indie if it ever sprung into womankind.
