The American singer grew up in Baltimore before emigrating to Germany with her family when she was a child. She moved to Hamburg in 2013 to attend film school. There, she started recording music, and eventually ended up working with Mense Reents from Die Vögel, who helped her record her well-received 2017 debut LP.
