about

The Hamburg-born guitarist Sonja Prunnbauer received her first guitar lessons with Eike Funck in Hamburg to study with Karl log in Vienna. Starting her solo career was the competition "Young Artists Concerts" from which it emerged in 1974 as a winner, following which it was committed to a number of concerts as a soloist. During this time, she also received a teaching position at the University of Music and Theatre in Hamburg. Since 1980, Sonja Prunnbauer is a professor of classical guitar at the University of Music in Freiburg. Her concerts have led both as a soloist and in ensemble with the whole world. She leads seminars at home and abroad and has been invited as a juror at international guitar competitions. In addition to radio and television productions released a number of CD recordings in the field of solo and chamber music with various ensembles and orchestras. (With Robert Hill, Rainer Kussmaul, Consortium Classicum). Sonja Prunnbauer puts the accent in her concerts by their love of chamber music. She is particularly fond of in duo and trio ensembles that bring the guitar sound into its own, such as combinations of violin, flute, guitar, cello and fortepiano. Particularly appealing is the choice of the instruments that play Sonja Prunnbauer in her solo and chamber music: the music of the 19th Century they interpreted on original period instruments or copies of the former champion, the music of the 20th Century on a sonorous-sounding instrument of our time.
