In 2009, Ben, already in a band (Tilted Smile - voted 'Jack Daniels' Best New UK Band 2006), wanted to spread his wings and experiment with his own writing style. He had been friends with Dean for a number of years and together they embarked on a mission to bring 'traditional folk music meets nu folk, with a tang of country flavour' into The Midlands, UK. To help them with their quest, Sarah, someone Ben regularly bumped into in his local supermarket, was invited along for a rehearsal and from that moment on the heart and musical spark of Son of Eagle was created. The following months saw Son of Eagle spend many an evening in tiny backrooms and slightly larger dining rooms learning and fine-tuning their way through the freshly created pieces. Count Twice was the first piece to be completed, quickly followed by Like Me, I Like You and Picture. Once content with the sound and colour they were creating with the songs, the group took the plunge, created a website and sent out the band's details to regional venues. Along came the gigs. With each appearance, Son of Eagle's success and popularity continued to grow and through each warm and heartfelt performance they won the hearts of many new listeners. Soon requests from neighbouring cities arrived to work alongside artists breaking into the UK market. After being highly recommended to the concert organisers, Son of Eagle was also asked to support the fabulous Norwegian singer songwriter, Thomas Dybdahl and with amazing feedback
