Solo Di Medina

For several years Solo di Medina had in mind to break away from his joint projects to make a danceable album, with roots more oriented towards classic funk than hip-hop, and with a transversal, hopefully radio-friendly vocation. The idea began to materialise in 2007, when the musician found an interlocutor with a similar lack of prejudice. Together with the producer Nicolás Carrasco (Foex), he plotted the basic material for Hembras de marte, an album that would later be shaped in the studio by guests such as C-Funk, Hernán del Canto (La Pozze Latina), Ana Tijoux and Rodrigo Chepillo (Bambú). The result, suggestive and with a fully amorous theme, was defined by the musician as "eroticoromanticón". Víctor Flores arrived in Chile at the age of 17, after a childhood and adolescence spent between Colombia and East Germany due to his father's exile. In the city of Potsdam he had his first taste of black American music, "even though all my friends listened to Depeche Mode and The Cure", as he recalls. On his return to Chile, he slowly integrated himself into the capital's hip-hop circuit, and in 1996 he joined La Pozze Latina as a percussionist. From there, his move to the microphone was a natural progression and he achieved peaks such as the famous single "Chica eléctrica". According to Flores, "nothing in my music has been rational. In La Pozze Latina I played percussion, but live I did backing vocals and in the end the people's response was much better when I sang". In that g
