Solitary Depression was formed as a one-man project band, back in the year 2009 in Sir Lanka. the band is incorporating in a unique brand a wide range of influences from the Black Metal and Dark fields, the band is based on Raw Black Metal but, Due to depressive guitar tones of their music and self-harm suicidal concepts and lyrics, the band started to refer as Depressive Suicidal Raw Black Metal, and lyrical themes are generally based on Social isolation, negativity, depression, loss of hope and Suicide. Solitary Depression started to do tracks as instrumental in demo versions; and it was all done by "Mahasona" founder of the band, and later vocalist “Jayakody ආරච්චිගේ Marlin” from the band “Dhishti” joined and decided to do the vocals and the band decided to do proper studio recordings.
