Sol y Lluvia is a Chilean musical ensemble formed in the 1970s by the Labra brothers. The group gained popularity not only for its music but also for its firm opposition to the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. The band's music blends modern musical instruments (drum set, electric guitar, bass guitar, and saxophone) with traditional Andean or Chilean instruments, including the charango and zampona. Lyrics referencing peace, poverty, family, and God earned the band associations with the Christian Democratic Party, despite this connection never formally existing. Studio albums Canto + Vida (1980) A desatar esperanza (1987) + personas (1988) Testimonio de paz (1989) Hacia la tierra (1993) La vida siempre (2000) La conspiración de la esperanza (2004) Clima humana (2013) User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
