Artist
Sol Blackman is the modern day incarnation of the quintessential "Soul Man" in the tradition of the great "Soul Men" of the past. Soulfully, he provides melodic insight into the heart of a man over a stirring canvas of live instrumentation. It’s a familiar, yet original, sound that resonates with the old as well as the young. It’s an intoxicating groove that’s as much “Old School” as it is “Top 40”. It’s a feeling that’s as much today, as it is yesterday, as it is yesteryear. While Sol’s heart has always been in music, his arrival at this present place has been far from traditional. Through life, as well as institutions of higher learning (Texas A&M University at Commerce), he has educated himself in many ways; even earning a degree in Business Administration. However, in all his studies, music was never his focus.
