Dutch psychedelic rock group Soft Parade (1989-1996) was founded by songwriters Hans Bos and Eric Maas, who were later joined by Dick Brouwers and Jay Pollet. Signed to Dave Stewarty's Anxious Records label, the first album PUUR (1992), was produced by David A. Stewart (of Eurythmics) himself. Full of hope and positivism, the songs were heavily influenced by sixties bands such as The Velvet Undergound and The Beatles , yet they sounded contemporary. The second album, Get Well Soon (1995), showcased a far more gloomy and disturbing world view and, in a way, announced the end of what was (perhaps) one of Europe's most promising bands on mainland Europe in the 1990s. Hans Bos later started the Carcassettes label, introducing himself as lo-fi act Speaker. Eric Maas named his new alternative guitar rockband Stereo Apollo, after the final and unpublished Soft Parade song. Dick Brouwers resurfaced as bassist and/or keyboard player in different bands, uncluding Shine, 13, Daryll-Ann and the backing band of Ellen Ten Damme.. After years of silence, Bos, Maas and Brouwers re-united in a new band, MonThruSun. With 75% of the Soft Parade line-up present, this band wa welcomed by fans as a Soft Parade reunion of sorts.
