Sofie Björck is a Swedish singer/songwriter who was born in the lovely south of Sweden in a region named "Skåne". A website is currently under construction at: www.sofiebjorck.com. And a brand new-facebook-group has been launched at: www.facebook.sofiebjorck.com ! She grew up as a preachers daughter on the Fairytale Island "Gotland" , loved by painters for it's intense otherwortly light. In the gotlandic medieval church and vicars garden she started exploring her musical universe very early on, inspired by the hymns and traditional music of Sweden. At the age of soon to be thirteen she had her stage debut in a local competition in the small Swedish city "Flen". Her very first stage performance ever ended with that she was voted the winner of the competition by the enthusiastic crowd! Between the ages of 12-15 Sofie was writing songs on her white guitar until she finished school and was thinking of becoming everything from a saxophone player to a classical singer (and also studied those instruments). Then she had a stint hanging out with a boyfriend playing loads and loads of baroque duets on recorder, medieval music, attending early music concerts, and singing in that style. After some years she finally went back to writing her own songs again. She left Sweden for Hollywood, Los Angeles, California were she attended the prestigious rock-school Musicians Institute, made some friends and wrote many new songs, and of course played a great deal live.
