Social Seed is a Massachusetts-based band that blends hard-hitting rock with grunge, alternative, and even some metal influences. When Mike Bitto and Gene DiScipio first met, the pair established a core sound comprised of textured, hook-laden guitars and driving bass riffs. Some time later, now-singer Paul Wildman answered the duo's ad for a drummer, but it was his gruff yet melodic vocals and a kind of laid-back angst that Cobain and Staley might've effected together that would graft most notably onto the band's signature sound. With the final addition of drummer Joe Z's pounding-heartbeat rhythms that at times feel downright tribal, Social Seed was firmly planted. Blending the best of the ages, the band combines classic rock influences, heavy grunge, and a touch of progressive metal; the result is a self-assured musical force -- at the same time unruly and alluringly fluid. Social Seed is currently writing and recording material for their first album. They can be seen and heard throughout the Boston and greater New England areas. Everything starts from a single seed.
