So Phat! is a German production and remix duo consisting of Nils Ruzicka and Stavros Ioannou. Nils Ruzicka was born on October 9, 1973, in Hildesheim, Germany. He emerged in the mid-1990s after being discovered by Ramon Zenker in 1993. Ruzicka launched projects such as Mega’lo Mania, Plug’n’Play, and Revil O, and produced well-known works including Bellini’s "Samba de Janeiro"—which earned gold and platinum awards in 1997—and a charting cover of HIM’s "Join Me" in 1999. He subsequently met Stavros Ioannou at Peppermint Park Studio in Hanover, establishing a long-term collaboration. Stavros Ioannou was born on February 8, 1971, in Hanover, Germany, to Greek immigrants. He developed a passion for music early, inspired by artists like Elvis Presley and AC/DC, and began playing guitar by age ten. By age sixteen he had attracted attention from Peppermint Park studio, where he recorded his first demo. Ioannou is proficient on guitar, bouzouki, bass, and vocals. Together as So Phat!, the duo produced and remixed artists ranging from Missy Elliott and Tom Jones to Simple Minds, Zucchero, Bootsy Collins, and Warren G. Their 2004 production of Vanity 6’s "Nasty Girl" for Inaya Day reached No. 9 in the UK and No. 18 in Australia. Their music appeared largely on Peppermint Jam and ProgCity labels, gaining widespread DJ support.
