Snekka is a folk rock group formed in 2000. The original sound, distinctive and professional musicians together with mainly self-composed repertoire form the strong and recognizable sound of Snekka. The band has become known of its ambitious, high-quality music and their raging stage performance. In summer 2003, Snekka gained The Finnish Championship of Folk Music with an acoustic line-up. The same year drummer Tuomas Rauhala joined the band. With its current line-up, the band has widely achieved recognition and success. It was elected as The Band of the Year at Kaustinen Folk Music Festival 2004. Shortly after, the band released their debut album, "MOT", which has received lots of great word among the critics and the citizens.
