Artist
With lyrics that are deeply personal, sincere, and soulful, and some of the hottest beats in Hip-Hop, Sneaky Pete is sure to be a fixture in the music world for years to come. His tone and flow create some of the cleanest sounds ever heard; a fresh sound, that not only creates a name for itself, but embraces the sounds of early Hip-Hop, as well. Pete Wright was born in Providence, Rhode Island. He would eventually discover the Hip Hop genre, and instantly knew it was the style for him. Icons such as A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul and Redman were his favorite artists and greatly influenced his own works. In 2001, Sneaky Pete moved away from Rhode Island to make a name for himself in Brooklyn, New York. A member of a crew called The 00Agents, Pete experienced Hip-Hop culture everyday and began to better hone his craft; performing with acclaimed artists such as The Beastie Boys and A Tribe Called Quest. Pete returned to Providence in 2006. Since then, Sneaky Pete has been influential to the Providence music scene and it's youth. An artist in residence at Rhode Island's prestigious AS220 as well as a mentor to the "Rhode Show," a program designed to excite Providence youth about Hip Hop music and inspire them to create his/her own voice.
