Formed 2005 by members of obscure central California band Retard nunchuck (RIP) as something to do whilst bored/drinking. Smoke my pipe lay dormant until the end of 2008 when an entire permanent lineup was secured. Based 3/5 out of Fresno California (The remainder an hour north in neighboring Merced.) Smoke my pipe strives to be nothing but a collaborative effort amongst friends with no particular motivation other than to play music and maybe share some information/space with people. a fast/hard approach with no particular intent, or genre-clinging (as no one in this band listens to the same music) is the only option and the results are interesting and hard to put your finger on. A handful of demo's have circulated and a split cassette with "the spooks" is quite the earful. a DIY full length is expected in 2010 with the band playing regularly and expanding their musical library.
