Vernon Smiley Garfield was born on July 1, 1952 in Dallas, Texas.He sang in the church choir from an early age on. Mr. Garfield was a soldier in Germany from 1973 until 1977. In 1980 he returned to Germany and worked all kind of jobs in order to make a living. In 1983 Mr. Garfield decided to dedicate all his time to his music career. He became a successful soul singer and has been working on different projects. He is mainly performing as a soloist and here are some highlights of his career: opening act for the The Temptations; opening act for the The Stylistics; opening act for George McCray; collaboration with German pop singer Jürgen Drews and the German hip hop group Die Fantastischen Vier; various appearances at the Sportpresseball Frankfurt (German Sportswriter’s Ball, one of the highlights on Frankfurt’s social calendar) among other engagements.
