There are at least 2 artists with the alias of Small World: 1) Glasgow based electronic producer Paul Hunter, mainly active 1996 - 2006. 2) Mod band from Barking, Essex, UK. Formed in November 1979. 1) Glaswegian DJ, remixer, lecturer, and producer Paul Hunter, is known by his other aliases of Brother Of Soul, Dual Tone, Poets Of Thought, Second Crusade, and The Stic. The Small World alias focuses more on trip-hop/downtempo & jazz-infused beats with a heavy emphasis on sampling. As Small World, Hunter is perhaps best known for his The Livin' Free EP, especially the track Livin' Free which was featured on Kruder & Dorfmeister's DJ-Kicks of the same year (1996). Since then, Hunter has been a lecturer at the BIMM Music Institute Manchester, and has run the Red Hook Recordings label. Paul Hunter is also the brother of Michael Hunter , who best known for this work on the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and GTA IV soundtracks. 2) Small World formed in November 1979 when Chris Philpott and Mick Cohen, who were already mates, met up with John Wratten who was looking to get into a band. The three had common musical influences/tastes based mainly on post-punk new wave (Jam, Clash, Buzzocks etc..) and sixties guitar-based bands (Small Faces, Kinks, Beatles). Initially the band had trouble getting a permanent drummer and it wasn't until August 1980 that an advert in the local paper resulted in Andy Orr joining the band. From that point on the band were ready to start doing some live
