Straight out the mother fuckin local... formed from the ashes of the Funky Hunky Chunk Monkeys, the SmackRats were the finest and as far as we know the only perveyers of drunken hobo punk. established in nineteen ninety something or maybe even two thousand and something(...um we forget) the SmackRats toured around a lot of the UK (as long as you don't include scotland or ireland as being part of the UK.) known for playing stupidly fast, stupidly sloppily, stupidly drunk, and just plain stupidly they gained a reputation as one of the most interesting bands on the UK underground punk scene. Live shows were always a mish mash of live energy, rolling around, leg humping and a lot of crowd interaction. A buzz following them everywhere they went. Trouble too. Recording many Albums and EPs mostly with the same songs on but recorded at different tempos (varying between fast and stupidly fast). The SmackRats never bothered to keep track of recordings and batches of them produced then once they were gone they were gone. Keeping to their DIY and don't really care about the results they finally recorded an album they liked and never really released it. The recording of the still un-named album was dogged with minor troubles such as lack of skill, lack of ambition, the death of Michael Jackson the day after "holidays in your son" was recorded, lack of feeling in fingers and the guitarist moving to the other side of the planet shortly after finishing resulting in the subsequent demise of t
