Sloper is the new band of two esteemed rock drummers from Europe's Low Countries: Cesar Zuiderwijk (of Holland's Golden Earring) and Mario Goossens (of Belgium's Triggerfinger). They had been fans of each other (and each other's bands) for quite some time. They recruited the British guitarist and singer Peter Shoulder (of Winterville, The Union and Silverthorne) and Belgian session guitarist Fabio Canini - and started a musical demolition company of sorts: the name Sloper means 'Demolisher' in Dutch and Flemish. Their first singles came. A debut EP (the eponymous Sloper EP) came out in 2020. Their debut full-length, Pulverise, followed in August of 2021. The band toured intensively, but at the end of the campaign intense travel became too much for Newcastle-born-and-bred Peter, who decided to leave the band. In late 2023, the band embraced two new members, Jan Bas (vocals, guitar) and Bas Soetens (bass), to complete the 'Sloper 2.0' line-up.
