Slingshot Around the Moon

Slingshot around the moon began as a three piece. Ian Sadler, Ben Bowles and Martin Eden. Their first gig was on a covers night as Jimmy eat world, and they were on the front line when emo exploded into supreme popularity. Their first EP was a five track demo called “elixia” recorded in Ian’s bedroom with one microphone and therefore wasn’t of the greatest quality. For months they played the lido and other venues around Kent and built a following of committed fans who turned up to every gig. They also played GRRLfest, a supposedly female bands only night dressed in drag. After a while, Jay Springett joined the band and they took a bit more of a post-rock direction on their 2 track release on running riot records.
