Being in the music world for over a decade now, there is no other voice that quite compares to that of Marvin Scandrick III PKA “Slim”. Music has always been apart of his life. Although his first passion was completely different, the path he chose was definitely the right one. “Airplanes and being a pilot is what I was interested in.” says, Slim, “I was ALWAYS great in school, straight A’s, advanced placement, you know, a real book worm, singing was just a part of our life.” Brought up in a strict and very religious household, Gospel music was the only thing he could listen to. R&B music was just another way to express his talents especially at local talent shows and church events. Born and raised in Atlanta and living a very animated life, may have a lot to do with the reason why Slim is an 8 time ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) winner. “Many situations, mine or others are what inspire me to write, that’s how many of my CLASSICS are made!” There is no doubt that his “classics” have made it on the “Top 100” charts, Billboard Charts & have won many prestigious awards for himself & the artist albums he’s affiliated with. With the success that his group 112 has had in the past years, it is no different that his success as a Solo Artist will be the same.
