Sleeping at Last is a musical project led by singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ryan O'Neal (born July 17, 1983). The project originated in Wheaton, Illinois, in 1999 as a three-piece band with Ryan O'Neal as lead singer and guitarist, his brother Chad O'Neal (born December 6, 1979) on drums, and Dan Perdue (born August 28, 1981) on bass. Their debut album, "Capture", was released independently in 2000. The band attracted the attention of Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins, who helped them secure a deal with Interscope Records, leading to the release of their major label album "Ghosts" in 2003. The band later returned to independent releases with "Keep No Score" (2006) and "Storyboards" (2009). Sleeping at Last toured nationally, opening for acts such as Switchfoot, Zwan, Yellowcard, Something Corporate, the Format, and Bleu. Their music received airplay on Fuse TV, and songs such as "Quicksand" appeared in television series including "Grey's Anatomy". In 2008, drummer Chad O'Neal departed from the band, followed by bassist Dan Perdue in 2011, leaving Ryan O'Neal as the sole permanent member. In 2010, Sleeping at Last launched the "Yearbook" project, releasing three songs per month for a year in twelve EPs, later compiled in a box set. Songs from "Yearbook", including "Homesick", "Watermark", "Emphasis", "Wires", "Tethered", and "From the Ground Up", appeared in television series including "Private Practice", "Grey's Anatomy", and "Bones".
